FY2021 Flexible Spending Account Enrollment

*IMPORTANT UPDATE*

 

In consultation with Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Chief Administrative and Financial Officer, Timothy J. Plante; the Employee Benefits Dept. has extended the deadline to enroll in the City’s Flexible Spending Account program as further support of our employees during these difficult times. The new deadline is Friday, June 12th, 2020 @ 12:00PM.

Forms received after the 12:00PM deadline on June 12th will be considered late and declined accordingly.

This extension applies to Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts. Program information and forms can be found on the City’s Public website or please contact the Employee Benefits Dept. via email: benefits@springfieldcityhall.com or phone: 413-787-6055.

In response to the challenges of COVID-19, thank you for your hard work and dedication over the last several months. SPRINGFIELD FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

A $2,000.00 scholarship will be awarded to the child of a member of Local 648 and the Privates Club for the furthering of their education.

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE COMPLIED WITH:

An applicant shall be enrolling or attending an accredited 2 or 4-year college or school of nursing.

Applications, transcripts, and letters of recommendation must be returned by

June 17, 2020

The Privates Club and Local 648 are donating $1,750.00 each towards the scholarship. Therefore to be awarded the scholarship the applicant’s parent must be a member of both organizations.

1st Runner up will receive $2,000.00.

2nd Runner up will receive $1,000.00.

3rd Runner up will receive $500.00

Applications may be obtained from the Union website at www.iafflocal648.org.

Previous recipients of this scholarship are not eligible.

The format for determining the recipient will be the same as in the past; need, scholastic achievement, future endeavors, and community involvement.
