SPRINGFIELD FALLEN FIREFIGHTER
SCHOLARSHIP
A $2,000.00 scholarship for the furtherance of the education of a son or daughter of a member of Local 648 and the Private’s Club (or honorary member) will be awarded.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE COMPILED WITH:
An applicant shall be enrolling in or attending an accredited college or School of nursing.
Applicants, transcripts, and letters of recommendation must be returned by
May 15, 2012 to Bob Shewchuk at the White St. Fire Station.
Applications may be obtained at any Springfield Fire Station and from the Union website at www.iafflocal648.org.
The Private’s Club and Local 648 are donating $1,000.00 each towards the scholarship. Therefore to be awarded the full scholarship the applicant’s parent must be a member of both organizations.
Previous recipients of this scholarship are not eligible.
The format for determining the recipient will be the same as in the past; need, scholastic achievement, future endeavors and community involvement.
